Italian justice investigates the influencer Chiara Ferragni

MIAMI.- The influencer Italian Chiara Ferragni is being investigated by the authorities Italians for dubious charity campaigns. The scandal in which she is involved began after it was revealed that last year she collaborated with the Balocco company in the sale of a traditional Pandoro whose cost ranged from 9 euros, with the intention of donating part of the sales to the hospital pediatric Queen Margherita de Turn.

However, it was recently learned that the candy company assumed the donation of 50,000 euros, before the Pandoro went on sale. For the campaign, Ferragni obtained a profit of one million euros; sum that he must now pay in a fine that was imposed on him for incorrect business practices.

The fashion businesswoman broadcast a video on her social networks in which she apologized to her followers and explained that what happened had been the product of a communication error. Likewise, she indicated that she would donate the million euros she earned from the campaign to the hospital.

“My mistake, in good faith, was to link a commercial activity to a charitable activity with communication. Unfortunately you can make mistakes, I regret having done so and I realize that I could have protected better,” the businesswoman wrote.

But the position that Ferragni assumed has not been enough to wash his image.

Other controversies

Now, companies with which it maintains alliances and sponsorships are turning their backs on it, just as other charitable companies of dubious origin have come to light.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating two Easter egg campaigns that the 36-year-old Milanese socialite starred in. The characteristic sweets of the major week, which went on sale in 2021 and 2022, are wrapped in pink paper and have their anagram as a seal, and were distributed by Dolci Preziosi.

The advertising claimed that the proceeds would go to a project for children with autism. However, it was learned that of a collection of more than one million euros, only 36,000 were donated; Therefore, justice seeks to know if the sum was agreed upon or if it was a fraudulent campaign.
