The former president of Basil, Jair Bolsonaro, could undergo a new surgery in his abdominal region, due to the sequelae left by a stab wound that he received a little over four years ago, the press reported.

Bolsonaro’s doctor, Antonio Luiz Macedo, commented that his patient needs to undergo a new surgical procedure, which will probably be carried out in Brazil, the Folha de Sao Pablo newspaper reported.

The doctor, who has already operated on Bolsonaro, recalled that his patient is in Florida, United States, where he was recently hospitalized due to intestinal discomfort that was injured when he was attacked in the middle of a campaign event held in 2018, in the city of Juiz de Fora, state of Minas Gerais.

The head of state would have informed his doctor that he ruled out having an operation in the United States due to the high costs of the private health service in that country, the newspaper wrote.

The Brazilian Justice gave the former president and his children five days to demonstrate about the coup attempt that occurred on January 8 when thousands of activists invaded the Planalto Palace in Brasilia.
