Jenni Rivera's children condition the unveiling of her posthumous star

The ceremony, which took place on June 27, was attended by children of the interpreter Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka and Michael, as well as their parents, Rosa Saavedra and Pedro Rivera. The great absentee was Juan Rivera, who as is known has differences with his nephews.

However, although the reunion went off without a hitch, it was revealed that the singer’s children had restricted the attendance of their grandparents.

The information was confirmed by the artist’s parents, who claimed that they did not give interviews during their stay on the Walk of Fame because they were asked not to do so.

Conditions

On social media, a video of Mrs. Rosa is circulating in which she claims that she cannot speak to the media.

“They don’t let us give interviews, they don’t let us, we would like to but no, we’ll give them another day,” she told Eddie Sakaki when he approached her to find out her impressions of the event. The photographer uploaded the woman’s statement to his Tiktok account.

Later, Pedro Rivera spoke with the program First hand, and explained what conditions his grandchildren imposed on him to attend the tribute to his daughter.

“Jacqie invited me via text message and I attended with great affection and pleasure (…) Jacqie’s instructions were that it was time to put our problems aside and get together to honor her mother. The only requirement was that I had to go alone,” he said, while clarifying that this was the reason why he attended without his current partner.

The patriarch also said that during the ceremony he had very little contact with Jacqie, Johnny, Chiquis, Jenicka and Michael.

“I attended, I looked at everyone, I greeted them all and nothing more. We arrived, we made the presentation, we were there filming () The event ended, we took a photo in front of my daughter’s star and that was it.”

Disagreements in the family

Rivera also said that with the exception of her grandchildren, no other member of the family was considered to participate in the speech dedicated to the Diva of the Band; and she emphasized that her son Juan would have liked to go celebrate his sister’s career.

“They didn’t take us into account at all for the event, they just asked to be present so they could see that the family was there. (…) My son was really missed. Juan is a person with a very noble heart and I don’t think he would have refused to go.”

Finally, the octogenarian said that the legal proceedings he faces for allegedly improperly exploiting his daughter’s recordings continue and that he hopes the truth will soon be revealed.

“Things become clearer over time, so I have always had a lot of confidence in that, if I have done something wrong it will be known, if I am an upright person it will also be known,” he said.
