American Pie quickly became a cult classic and most people seem to have their favorite quotes, scenes and people from the film series. One of the most popular and memorable characters is Stifler’s mother, played by Jennifer Coolidge, who single-handedly popularized the term “MILF”, and appeared in all four regular American Pie films.
Coolidge currently stars in the TV series The White Lotus, which earned her a Golden Globe trophy yesterday, and in her acceptance speech she mentioned the American Pie movies and made it clear she wouldn’t mind returning as Stifler’s mother:
“There were these people who would give me these cute little jobs and it would be enough to get me to the next one… The Weitz brothers kept me going, some of these things would go like five different sequels of American Pie, I milked that to the bone. I mean, I’m still going for six or seven, whatever they want, you know?”
There have been occasional rumors that the American Pie people would be coming back for a new movie, and if this were to ever happen (we sure hope so!), then we can safely expect Stifler’s mother to return.
