poMIAMI.- Despite the conflicts that Jennifer Garner y Ben Affleck faced during their marriage, and which led to their divorce in 2015, the reality is that both of them not only share three children, Violet, 18, Seraphine, 15, and Samuel, 12, they also managed to build a friendship that transcended their differences.
They have even been seen together at school events, as well as at family engagements; and local media reported that on the weekend of June 30, Ben was seen visiting his ex’s house.
However, the situation seems to be taking a toll on Garner.
“It was starting to be too painful for her because it brought back so many memories of her divorce,” a source told Daily Mail.
The insider also said that while the actress wanted to be a support for Ben, she can no longer shoulder that responsibility. “Finally, Jen has reached a point where she has said to him, ‘I’m sorry, figure this out on your own,'” the outlet added.
“Throughout their marriage there were times when Jen felt like she was second only to JLo, even though there was no communication between her and Ben for years. Jen opened her home and her life to the singer because she had put the past behind her; she cares about Lopez and she cares about her children and how it will affect them all. But in the end, it’s not Jen’s ‘circus’, and she is no longer acting as a marriage counselor for her ex-husband and his wife,” she emphasized.

In the past, the actor has addressed his alcohol addiction and how his unhappy marriage to Garner played a role in it. Affleck explained that while he loves and respects the mother of his children, trying to stay together led him to spiral into addiction.
“I thought ‘I can’t leave’ for my children, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’. What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and falling asleep on the couch, that seemed like the solution then.”
He added that both he and Jennifer tried hard to keep the relationship afloat, but neither of them could continue and it didn’t seem fair to hold on.
“We had a marriage that wasn’t working, that happens, with someone I love and respect. We both felt that we didn’t want this to be the model that our children saw in marriage.”
Since their separation, Jennifer and Ben have managed to maintain a healthy friendship and support each other.
It recently emerged that Affleck and Garner could be working together.
The Hollywood Reporter portal revealed that the actress is in negotiations to star in a thriller Netflix crime drama that Ben is directing and producing. Matt Damon is also reportedly part of the cast of the film.
