Boltonwho was an adviser to Trump from April 2018 to September 2019, he lashed out at his former boss for his foreign policy legacy regarding the alliancesaying in an interview with the newspaper The Hill: «Threatened the existence of the NATOand I believe that in a second mandate of Trumpit is almost certain that we would withdraw from the NATO».
“Donald Trump doesn’t really have a philosophy, as we understand it in political terms,” he added. Bolton. “He doesn’t think about political directions when making decisions, certainly in the national security space.”
In an opinion piece published Tuesday, Bolton said Trump “disdains knowledge” and accused him of “seeing the relationships between USA and foreign lands, especially our adversaries, predominantly as matters of personality.”
