Joy is an antidote to stress

MIAMI.- He Day World Joy Day is celebrated on August 1. According to the RAE, joy is represented by gestures or actions that express joy. This event was proposed in 2010 by the initiative of Alfonso Becerra, a Colombian national, during a Cultural Management Congress held in Chile.

“The idea came to me and I began to develop it to see what happens around other dates, and I was surprised to find that, generally, we celebrate events that have been related to war, blood and death, religious festivals, parties or political dates such as Fiestas Patrias, and that everything that brings us joy or happiness seems not to be part of the world calendars,” Becerra said in an interview with Caracol Radio.

Joy generates several health benefits, among which are the following:

– When you are happy, a neurotransmitter called serotonin is generated, which reduces stress and anxiety.

– Joy increases defenses.

– Creativity is enhanced.

– It promotes the willingness to help others.

The body speaks

Joy is often very eloquent. Thus, when one experiences this state, the body speaks with expressions such as the separation of the lips, the raising and narrowing of the eyelids, and the bilateral withdrawal of the corners of the mouth.

Another important gesture is the increase in the tone of the voice, even presenting variations.
