The Potsdam radio presenter Maik Müller cleared 110,000 euros on the RTL quiz show “Who wants to be a millionaire?” on Friday. According to his broadcaster BB Radio, it was the largest win in the context of the “3 million euro week”.

In the show on Tuesday, the moderator won 32,000 euros and thus qualified for the final round. In this, Müller used his winnings to play for the prize of three million euros. RTL presenter Günther Jauch, also from Potsdam, promised him 10,000 euros for going to the council chair again.

Müller secured another 100,000 euros with the correct answer to the question “Who is supposed to be responsible for an event that, according to legend, happened on June 26, 1284?” That was the “Pied Piper of Hamelin”. After that, the 33-year-old stopped – probably also to the relief of his fiancée Laurin, who kept her fingers crossed for him in the studio.

Boot camp training

“110,000 euros, I can’t even realize this amount yet,” said Müller at the end of the show. The planned wedding in September could be a bit more opulent. The rest is great starting capital for starting a family, maybe with a small house in the countryside.

In order to clear up Günther Jauch, Müller – who is still a business administration student in his 26th semester in addition to his job at the radio – had meticulously prepared. “I went to a boot camp especially for this, tested the speed of reaction in the Formula 1 car,” he said, according to a statement from BB Radio. He was also with the hypnotist and worked with a facial expression and speech resonance trainer to decode Günther Jauch’s poker face, said Müller. And the effort was worth it: “I succeeded: I’m a Günther Jauch winner!”
