All of a sudden there was radio silence on Julian Zietlow’s (38) social media channels. The successful fitness influencer has not posted any posts on his Instagram page (149,000 followers) since the summer of 2022 – and instead causes great concern among his fans with strange statements from far-off Thailand.
Because Zietlow is obviously on the wrong track: According to his own statement, he has joined a sect and is consuming hard drugs – all under the guidance of the shady influencer Ferdinand Beck (30), reports the Swiss “ Blick“. Zietlow was recently a flagship social media star …
► Together with his wife Alina Schulte im Hoff (36), Zietlow inspired the followers with fitness and feel-good content. Zietlow became known with his “Size Zero” program; he founded the company “Rocka Nutrition”.
► Zietlow helped the stars on their way to top fitness and dream figures: among other things, he did GZSZ star Jörn Schlönvoigt (36) and ex-Bachelor candidate Angelina Heger (31) in 2015 fit for their participation in the RTL jungle camp. Other celebrities such as rapper Sido (42) also entrusted their bodies to Zietlow.
► BILD readers also know Zietlow’s tough program: for one “Fat-away” series, he showed twelve exercises to imitate. The motto was emblazoned on his casual hoody: “The billing is done on the beach”.
But for a long time there have been no more motivational quotes, training results or six-packs from Zietlow YouTube-Kanal has been shut down: In a video from January 2021, he announced his departure from the video platform after ten years – only to then suddenly post posts with completely different content: It’s about alleged “miracle cures”, “spiritual awakening” and self-discovery . But even that ended a year ago.
What is Zietlow doing in Thailand?
Statements by influencer Beck show the content of Zietlow’s new life in Thailand. In a joint podcast from 2022, he calls Zietlow “stressed and unhappy” – and he confirms: “I had achieved what I wanted, I had a great family, everything was cool, I was in the Maldives, but I was easy unhappy.”
That’s where Beck comes in handy: the influencer supports Zietlow in the search for his “higher self”. And, as the two openly say, with the help of hard drugs. Shortly after getting to know each other, he takes LSD for the first time.
He also initially takes his wife Alina with him on his journey, as the “ Blickreported. And apparently gets caught in the clutches of a sect. In the podcast with Beck, he says himself: “A lot of people say I’ve lost touch with reality and that I’m immersed in the Bashar cult – and it’s true. I am in the Bashar cult.”
What Beck promises him: searching and finding the “highest excitement” – the greatest satisfaction. Or as Beck describes it oppressively in a current Instagram story: “I see there’s just a crying child who says ‘I want one too’. And I just take it with me. Just like I took Julian Zietlow with me and showed him life. Now he is at the start. And you can also be at the start.”
Zietlow and Beck – what Julian’s followers think of it
Zietlow and Beck – a combination that does not go down well with the once loyal followers. Under Zietlow’s last Instagram post, many miss the former fitness role model:
► One writes: “Losing everything to be able to have everything is a high price, the value of which you will recognize when you realize that you have already owned your highest excitement.” An allusion to Zietlow’s professional success and family happiness with Alina and the two children together.
► Another speaks of brainwashing: “I very much hope that things will settle down with both of them and that Julian will finally distance himself from this terrible Ferdi. (…) Somehow the brainwashing worked out in the end. I really hope that Julian will be his old self again one day…”
But instead of “starting” Zietlow is probably on the ground at the moment – and the good wishes for the relationship between Julian and Alina have not been fulfilled: Alina announced the couple’s separation at the weekend.
