He just wants to be there for his loved ones.
On Saturday, Jürgen Drews (77) appeared in public for the last time on the ARD show “Der Große Schlagerabschied” with Florian Silbereisen (41). The singer is retiring and now wants to fully enjoy his retirement with his wife Ramona (49).
According to his own statement, he will not miss the stage!
Drews to BILD: “Ramona is my whole purpose in life now. I want to follow you until my very last day. I can well imagine marrying her again because my love for her is endless. I would like to die in her arms one day.”
On the show, Drews also sang a duet (“We’ve Got Tonight”) with his daughter Joelina, 27, that brought tears to both of them.
Drews: “I’m so proud of my daughter and how she is making her journey. She has a lot of me, but also a lot of Ramona. We all harmonize very well with each other.”
Daughter Joelina (27) also wants to do a lot with her dad. You to BILD: “I would like to travel with him as long as he is still as fit as he is now. Enjoy a cruise with mom and dad and my boyfriend together. I would also like to make music with him if he feels like it.”
Jürgen Drews keeps all options open for the future – just not a return to the stage. “The chapter is closed for me. Uncle Jürgen is slowing down now. I think I deserve it too!”
Drews suffers from the incurable nervous disease polyneuropathy, which increasingly restricts his movements.
