Kamaal Williams, who “brings the fusion of jazz, funk and other trends to the festival stage”, performs on July 16th, at the bandstand at Parque Basílio Teles, which will be the stage of Matosinhos em Jazz every weekend in July , according to the organization, in a statement released today.

“The British musician and producer brings the albums ‘Wu Hen’ (2020) and ‘The Return’ (2018), as well as a unique performance that navigates between various jazz and funk influences, connecting them live with hip rhythms. -hop, R&B, afrobeat, dubstep, and broken beat,” the statement reads.

As part of the festival, during the month of July, an exhibition will be on show at Parque Basílio Teles with the reinterpretation of “iconic jazz album covers” by Portuguese artists, whose names “will be announced shortly”.

Matosinhos em Jazz, an initiative of the Municipality of Matosinhos, has free admission and the shows always take place at 6 pm.

In 2022, Alfa Mist, Ashley Henry and Rebecca Martin, among others, performed at the festival, which returned after two years of interregnum due to the covid-19 pandemic.
