Around 100 students from all over the world attend here. The school, which started already in 2018 under the name Karlskrona International Primary School, became an authorized IB school in January – which means that it follows the same curriculum as thousands of other schools worldwide.
Something that acts as a fixed point in everyday life for families moving around the world.
Creates security
– It provides a high recognition factor and security for students who are used to changing schools. The idea with the IB school is based on creating global citizens, says Martin Andersson, principal of ISK and Wämöskolan in Karlskrona.
The school’s teachers also come from different countries.
— It creates a “home away from home”, says Mona Persson, coordinator at ISK, who herself has worked at IB schools in China, among other places.
Can grow
Right now, the IB program is available from pre-school to upper secondary school. In the fall, Ehrensvärdska high school also plans to open an IB program in Karlskrona.
