Monterrey Mexico.- At a time when La Reina del Sur 3 took over Netflix as the most watched series in Mexico and other foreign countries, Kate del Castillo had the luxury of starring in a totally different story in which she risks everything for a man.

With themes such as forbidden love and adultery, the actress stars in Falling Back, an adaptation of the novel “Anna Karenina” by Russian writer Lev Tolstoy, which was recorded in the country and premieres this Friday through the ViX+ platform. .

“I am very happy because the first series that we do with my production company Cholawood is coming out. We are going to start the promotion now, we will go to Mexico once it has been released,” said the actress in a telephone interview.

“It’s a six-part series made entirely in Mexico and it’s based on Anna Karenina, so it’s a modern version that was an Endemol Australia format, they passed it on to us, the Cholas, and we did this version with Endemol Mexico” .

Directed by Hari Sama (This is not Berlin), the series also brings together Maxi Iglesias, Rubén Zamora, Martín Altomaro, Eduarda Gurrola and Daniel Tovar, among others.

The pleasure that Kate feels at this moment is twofold: on the one hand, her Queen of the South 3 hits Netflix hard, but she also hopes that the public will be hooked with Return to Fall.

“La Reina del Sur is an exhaustive job, and when you see the results, the people’s response, ufff! It’s like an incredible apapacho,” said its protagonist, excited.

The third season is made up of 60 episodes, it was again produced by Telemundo Global Studios with Lina Uribe and Darío Vanegas as adapters, its producer is Marcos Santana.

“Yes, (also) I go as a producer, Carlos Bolado, he also goes as a producer, he is a genius, I trust him with everything, he is a very brilliant mind, he unites the key people for the different departments, he together with Marcos Santana, whom I’ve learned a lot from him,” said Kate, 50.

The third installment of La Reina del Sur arrived on Telemundo United States on October 18, 2022; its transmissions ended on January 16.

“Open television is practically obsolete, everyone knows it, there are fewer and fewer (audiences), however, it had incredible ratings for what it is,” he said.

“Netflix changed the way of watching television for years. I was one of the pioneers with them in Spanish with Ingobernable. They love La Reina del Sur because they are doing better every time, and also people go back to the first season and they see her again. It’s crazy,” he said.

“(But) if another one were to be made, I don’t do a fourth season of 60 episodes, there is no way. If you want to close flat with another it would have to be a movie or a season of very few chapters.”
