Kevin Jonas reveals that he suffers from skin cancer

MIAMI.- The greatest of Jonas Brothers, Kevin Jonasrevealed in a video published on social networks that he underwent a procedure to attack cells cancers that were diagnosed in the skin.

“Today I’m going to have a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head. Yes, it’s a small skin cancer “It really started to grow and now I have to have surgery to remove it,” Kevin shared on Tuesday, June 11, while pointing to a part of his forehead.

In the same audiovisual, Kevin added post-intervention shots in which he stated that he was going home to recover and showed the small bandage that covers the wound. “Be sure to check those moles,” said Joe and Nick’s older brother.

“Friendly reminder to check your moles” is the text that accompanies the publication with which Jonas wanted to raise awareness about the importance of going to the doctor when anomalies arise in the body.

Basal cell carcinoma

According to The Skin Cancer Foundationthis tumor is the most common and frequent form of skin cancer.

On its official website, the organization details that more than 4 million cases are diagnosed annually in the United States, and it arises when basal cells present abnormal or uncontrolled growth.

“Because BCCs grow slowly, most can be cured and cause minimal damage when detected and treated early. Understanding the causes, risk factors, and warning signs of BCC can help detect them early,” reads a publication from the foundation.

After revealing his diagnosis, The Skin Cancer Foundation commented on Kevin Jonas’s publication and thanked him for promoting dermatological evaluations as a public figure.

“We are so sorry to hear about your basal cell carcinoma, Kevin. Thank you for raising awareness. Early detection is key. I wish you the best on your recovery journey.”
