The automaker Kia has announced that all Kia vehicles from model year 2022 with a navigation system and activated online services Kia Connect can – and should – receive OTA updates from now on. According to Kia, the OTA functionality creates easy access to updates for the navigation system and the head unit of the vehicle and easily fixes any software errors.

OTA technology also saves time as systems can be kept up to date automatically without any manual action on the part of the customer. Kia’s first firmware update, which is currently being rolled out, offers a number of specific improvements.

These include a new eco-design theme for electric models, which was previously only available for the Kia EV6, new “Sounds of Nature” soundscapes and improvements to the setting of the air conditioning and the climate control functions of the seats (each depending on equipment).
