United States.- In a small American town called Enoch City, in the state of Utah, a subject shot and killed seven members of his family, including five children.

When the police arrived they found eight lifeless bodies.

The authorities went to the place after receiving several phone calls from relatives of the family.

A spokesman for Enoch City authorities said police found the bodies of three adults and five children in a home, all with gunshot wounds.

“Evidence suggests the suspect took his own life after killing seven in the home,” the municipality said in a statement, identifying the alleged shooter as 42-year-old Michael Haight.

His wife, his mother, and the couple’s five children (three girls and two boys between the ages of 4 and 17) died in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing but investigators reported that no other people are being sought in connection with the crime.

Enoch is a rural town of about 7,000 people in southeastern Utah, about three and a half hours from Salt Lake City.

The state is known for being home to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, popularly called Mormons, a conservative Christian sect that places a strong emphasis on the family but has historically encouraged polygamy.
