Mexico City.- King Carlos III may break the tradition of wearing the coronation suit to avoid the old-fashioned look of the past, according to reports that Page Six released.

The monarch will be formally crowned on May 6 following his ascension to the throne in September following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

And while the royals have always held true to their centuries-old traditions, it seems the King is looking to shake things up so he doesn’t look stale.

In previous coronations, the monarch traditionally wore silk stockings and trousers, often used for horseback riding.

But a source told The Sun that Carlos will don his military uniform on the big day in a bid to represent the modern monarchy of the 21st century.

“Senior advisers think the pants look too dated,” a source told the outlet.

Until now Buckingham Palace has not revealed details of the event, what is known is that it will be something very small in number of guests, in Westminster Abbey.
