The agreement of the presidential candidates of Together for Change Horacio Rodriguez Larreta y Patricia Bullrich on the candidacies in the City and Province of Buenos Aires was reflected in a statement that says more than what is written and where the central objective was to send a clear sign of unity against the stagnation that they began to see in some surveys.
The decision was made during a new meeting that both held together with the former president Mauricio Macri and the deputy Maria Eugenial Vidal. These meetings became more periodic due to the need to order the strategy of the PROwhose internal directly or indirectly drags the entire opposition alliance.
The announcement that the two central figures of the PRO agreed to define by means of a survey the party’s sole candidate for Buenos Aires head of government and both bring their own candidate for Buenos Aires governor for the August PASO is a clear computermainly for being two strategic districts for the national race.
But the most important aspect was that the statement came out with the only signatures of the two of them. Only Larreta and Bullrich, neither Macri nor Vidal. Larreta will appear at the PASO with Diego Santilli as a candidate for governor, while Bullrich will have to choose between Christian Ritondo, Joaquin de la Torre y Javier Iguacel.
In that scheme, The UCR would need to keep Gerardo Morales in the race for the presidential candidacy to present a candidate from Buenos Aires with chances of fighting the PRO contenders in the PASO, who will have the drag of the two presidential candidates.
If that situation did not occur, the radicalismo would have an alternative to agree with Bullrich to hook a candidate for governor on his ticket. The sources consulted clarify that for now there is nothing discussed in this regard, although they repeat that “there is a long way to go.” In the Province today the deputy runs for the UCR martin tetaz and the party leader Maximilian Abbot.
