The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and the former president of the Nation, Mauricio Macri, they cut their dialogue. It is that Macri found out that the Buenos Aires official said behind his back: “In an inmate between Mauricio and me, I win 70 to 30. I don’t need it.”
After the two meetings they held in the south of the country on December 31 and January 1, peace seemed to reign. The first of them had lasted less than 2 hours. And it was alone. In the second, accompanied by their wives, they sealed the peace agreement, which after a few days was forgotten.
“What does Horacio think?” Macri asked his relatives. “That I’m not going to find out? Let him know that the ones who talk to him are the same ones who talk to me. And Don’t even dream that I’m going to bank it. He expects my open support and he doesn’t throw me a cross! The peeled man has not yet realized that the macrismo is me, and not him.
Furious. This was the man who today goes through his days between his figure of “political mentor” and guarantor of the opposition coalition and a possible candidate for a new period of government.
Larreta had spoken off the record. But his comment quickly reached the ears of his former boss.
Silence between Larreta and Macri: an internal noise within the PRO

Mauricio Macri reacted quickly to his disappointment at the broken agreement: gave the green light to María Eugenia Vidal to campaign at the national level and encouraged Patricia Bullrich to keep pressing.
“He should value me in every conversation in which he participates! I’m not asking him to lower his candidacy or put it under my decision, but he has to consider me! Or doesn’t he know that today he measures less than a year ago? And that Patricia is not doing badly?!”
For now, Larreta is going to wait for new measurements, to go up a bit to set a distance from his peers. Since they returned from the south, there have been no new meetings or common communications. In fact, after those meetings in the house that the former President occupied in the place that represents his favorite space in the world, Cumelén, in Villa La Angostura, there was no official voice.
Why Macri is angry with Larreta
Macri’s anger with Larreta is because he considers that he was disloyal in his statements. In addition, he does not agree on the strategy of his campaign either.. He is convinced that he is giving away places in his Cabinet instead of saving them to negotiate in the middle of the electoral process: “What is the use of those who enter to work in the campaign for Horacio if they are already on his team, what is the stimulus? ”
In this way he discredited the last entries to the City cabinet. Martín Redrado, the most innovative of the first round, Silvia Lospennato and Waldo Wolff, who, although they were “satellites” of the Ciudad team, were among the last to formally join.
Macri encouraged Patricia Bullrich to continue pressing
The most recent of all was Cynthia Hotton, as president of the Social Council.
Larreta said that the decision to add Hotton from the More Values Front has to do with the defense that the former deputy made at the time of the “value of life, of the family, of the truth.” Also with the idea of providing a “more comprehensive view to carry out the dialogue with NGOs, with civil societies, with religious entities, businessmen, trade unions and foundations.”
A management that seeks his re-election
While Macri does not make sense of it, Larreta believes that the decision to incorporate figures with their own weight and flight taken off from the original group led by the head of the City Government, are more than valid reasons for having added them to a management that seeks his re-election.
This is how nothing is said so far. Just as the ruling party at the national level is not yet playing showing all the cards, this is not the case in the main opposition coalition either.
Larreta hopes to raise her measurements to start the campaign with greater force.
Meanwhile, a new division occurs among the members of Cambiemos, beyond the fights raised by the candidacies: On one side are those who believe that the economic crisis must be denounced and the indices explode before the election (exchange rate and inflation, for example). And others, who believe they are capable of planning a situation without having to keep talking endlessly about the same thing.
The campaign is green. There is no agreement on the how and neither on the who. There is only one firm scenario. The beach. There, in front of the waves and the wind, the pre-candidates walk without giving certainties and without concrete proposals to the rhythm of the sucundún sucundún.
Meanwhile, between Mauricio and Horacio today there is a silence that is quite similar to that of Alberto and Cristina.
