Horacio Rodríguez Larreta came out this afternoon to guarantee the Buenos Aires PRO mayors that they will not have internal competition in their districts. “I am here to defend the mayors we already have. And if that means a single ballot, we will have a single ballot,” he maintained.

This is a strong political fact in the middle of the presidential inmate starring the mayor of Buenos Aires with Patricia Bullrich. The PRO mayors, who mostly report to Rodríguez Larreta, have been pressing so that there are no Bullrich candidates in their districts, as a way to guarantee clear traffic in the Paso towards October.

Larreta’s gesture aims to open a negotiation instance in the municipalities so that the open dispute in the PRO does not trigger “below”. But also, to contain possible leaks to the camp of the former Minister of Security.

Rodríguez Larreta also left another juicy phrase, which perhaps has to do with the polls that exist to agree on a single candidate in the Province. “Where we do not govern, the healthiest thing is competition. We are mature enough to do it. If we manage ourselves well, the competition makes us stronger,” he said.

Thus, he seemed to lower his thumb again to the possibility of unifying a candidate for governor. As this newspaper has been telling, the Buenos Aires mayor resists the idea that his candidate from Buenos Aires, Diego Santilli, also go with Bullrich, because he considers that it would be sharing with his adversary the opposition candidate who has the highest rating in the Province.

Larreta met with mayors and legislators who had met with Bullrich a week ago. Among the members of the PRO provincial table were Santilli, Daniela Reich, Cristian Ritondo, Néstor Grindetti, Julio Garro, Pablo Petrecca, Javier Martínez, Ezequiel Galli, Héctor Gay, Diego Valenzuela, Guillermo Montenegro, Ramiro Tagliaferro, Martiniano Molina, Adrián Urreli , Christian Gribaudo, Alejandro Rabinovich, Soledad Martínez, Silvia Lospennato, Florencia Retamoso and Javier Iguacel, among others.

Both Grindetti and Iguacel are Bullrich’s gubernatorial candidates. And Ritondo has just joined the space of the former Minister of Security. To these names we must add that of provincial senator Joaquín De La Torre, who is also bidding for the same position from the falcon team.
