Latin Recording Academy names Carlos Vives Person of the Year

MIAMI.- This July 28th the elections take place presidential elections in Venezuela. In view of this, various Latin American artists They have spoken out in favour of a political change that would allow families to be reunited and end forced migration.

The call comes after several Venezuelan artists have called on their compatriots in recent days not to stay at home and go out to vote. Under the slogan “Vote for me,” the main figures of this country have recalled that they and the majority of migrants were not allowed to register as voters abroad, so they can only count on the action of those who are still in the Caribbean nation.

Puerto Rican singer Olga Tan, who has expressed her love for her fans in Venezuela on several occasions, shared a message on Instagram in which she wished the country a peaceful future.

“Venezuela, it comes from my heart to share this message, because for years I have received from you an unparalleled affection, love and respect. I will always be proud to be a proudly Venezuelan Puerto Rican. A historic moment is approaching in which you and only you will make decisions as one people. Please, never forget that above any difference of thought, you are brothers. Never forget how important Venezuelans are for Venezuela and for the rest of the world. I wish you a process full of serenity, good will, peace and above all that there are no events to regret,” she wrote on July 25.

However, on July 28, she uploaded a reel with photographs of Venezuelan landscapes with the song Qué bonita eres, which she performs with Oscar D’Len. “Come on VENEZUELA !!!!!!!!!! God bless you! IN MY HEART FOREVER!” reads the text that accompanies the video.

Puerto Rican Don Omar also posted a video in which he asked Venezuelans not to fall for provocations and to maintain brotherhood. “With the Venezuelan people, today and always,” he wrote in the post.

In the video, the King of Reggaeton said he hopes that on July 28th the country he visited and enjoyed for years will win.

“This Sunday is extremely important for you, for you as a country, for you as a people. And the most important thing is not to forget that you are all brothers. This Sunday, I hope that, without taking up a flag or taking any kind of position, you understand that I only hope that this coming Sunday the winner is Venezuela, the Venezuelans, the good people, the beautiful country that I went to and enjoyed. This Sunday, please do not forget that you are brothers. Do not raise your hand against your brothers. This Sunday I vote for Venezuela,” he said.

The Spaniard Alejandro Sanz also joined the call of his colleagues.

“Hopefully tomorrow change will become a reality. Each vote is a voice, a hope, a future. Venezuela, tomorrow with you,” the interpreter wrote in X.

Carlos Vives posted a photo on X and said: “Venezuela, you have the key to my heart and I only hope that we all meet again. Things have to change, I am with you,” Vives wrote.

Singer Luis Enrique also shared a message for the Caribbean country along with a heart and flag emoji. “Venezuela I am with you,” he said on X.

Colombian Silvestre Dangond urged Venezuelans to go out and vote with a: “Venezuela, come on, show your balls.”

While Residente dedicated a few lines to the virtues that the country possesses and asserted that he believes in Venezuelan youth and their commitment to voting.

“They have the moon that lights up the Orinoco, the triple crown of Cabrera, the verses of Ali Primera, the strings of the cuatro dancing joropo, the sky drawn in the water of the Roques, the Santa Teresa that I give myself at night, the protection of the Virgin of Coromoto, the strength of the rays of Catatumbo. For all this and more, let the conscious youth of Venezuela go out to vote. They are the future of the continent.”
