The Irish actor confided that he almost played James Bond. However, he indicates that he had to refuse the role when his wife, who made it known that she was opposed to it.
Liam Neeson revealed this week in an interview with RollingStone that he nearly played James Bond in the 1990s, but turned down the offer in order to marry actress Natasha Richardson.
“I know Broccoli [les producteurs historiques de la franchise, NDLR]“, said the Irish actor. “They met several actors. Schindler’s List had just come out and Barbara [Broccoli] called me several times to ask if I was interested. I replied that I was.”

There were all these pretty girls around the world, in beds. I’m sure that was the reason for his refusal.”
The Broccoli finally chose Pierce Brosnan instead. And Liam Neeson, a decade later, was able to become an action movie star with the franchises Star Wars And Takenwhich have become worldwide successes.
