In addition, he asked for the support of the authorities so that the national tournament starts as soon as possible.
“The Professional Soccer League (LFP) informs the public opinion and the fans that the schedules of the Betsson 1 League 2023 matches, corresponding to dates 2 and 3, are subject to possible modifications according to the social situation that it is experiencing. the country”, can be read in the first paragraph of the text.
“The LFP appreciates the collaboration of the competent authorities so that the Peruvian championship can start normally and hopes that soon all the necessary conditions will be met that allow football to develop in an environment of security and peace for the athletes and fans, who are looking forward not only to the initial whistle, but also to the unity of the country,” he concluded.

The 2023 League 1, initially, had a starting date of Friday, January 13, however, on December 14 it was reported that it was modified to Saturday the 21st of this month due to the imposition of the state of emergency in Peru.
Days before the agreed date, the Ministry of the Interior issued a statement confirming that all sporting events last week were suspended due to the social situation, for this reason, it was postponed until Friday, January 27.
Now it could undergo another change. Everything will depend on the corresponding authorities and it is that the matches of date 2 of the Opening Tournament are not authorized to be held behind closed doors either.

This dispute between the entity headed by Agustín Lozano and the different sports institutions has not been clarified shortly after the start of the local tournament and everything indicates that it will continue this year, so it could become another factor in the league’s delay.
