Lima will meet tomorrow 488 years of foundation and, at various points in the capital, there will be tribute activities for this anniversary. The ‘City of Kings’ exceeds 10 million inhabitants (according to INEI report with projection to June 2022) and is considered a historical and cultural center.

The current metropolitan mayor, Rafael López Aliaga, announced that a solemn session and Tedeum Mass will be held, although the festivities with emblematic serenade and parades have been suspended for violent acts within the country, with loss of life.
The official acts will begin tomorrow, at 9 in the morning, January 18, with the wreath laying in homage to the last Inca cacique ‘Taulichusco’, before the monument located in the Nicolás de Rivera passage.
At 10 in the morning it will be the Mass and Te Deum in the Cathedral of Lima, and at noon, in the Municipal Palace, the solemn session with the presence of various authorities.
