NoNext year, Lisbon will have the opportunity to “disseminate diversity, which is also nourished by voices on the African continent and has a historical and linguistic extension in Brazil”, stresses the organization in a statement about the fair, whose edition this year closes on Monday.

Enrique Avogadro, Minister of Culture of the city of Buenos Aires, quoted in the statement, recalls several joint initiatives with Lisbon and the “inalienable bond” between both, namely through its presence in various networks of Ibero-American cities.

Founded in 1975, under the motto ‘The book, from the author to the reader’, the Buenos Aires International Book Fair is promoted by the Book Foundation and is recognized as one of the largest publishing events in Latin America.

With an annual periodicity, the event dedicated to the book is divided into several sections on publishers, literature, education, leisure and art and develops a parallel cultural program, receiving around one million visitors.
