If you’ve played League of Legends in the last decade, you’ve certainly seen a video of SkinSpotlights. This is a YouTube user who gathers videos demonstrating skins, chromas, skills, voices and interactions of all 160+ League of Legends champions. This methodical categorization leads many to think that SkinSpotlights is an official Riot Games channel, but this is not true.
The reality is that almost nothing is known about who is behind SkinSpotlights, as all the videos and tweets made by the accounts are directly related to the game, and never deal with external matters. The author constantly shares his thoughts on Twitter about questionable Riot decisions, but never reveals personal information about himself.
what’s the present?
The gift is a metal plaque with the following inscription: “SkinSpotlights – A decade in the spotlight. Celebrating 10 years of SkinSpotlights and their incredible contributions to the League of Legends community.”
Despite the gift, the channel does not have direct contact with Riot Games, instead SkinSpotlights uses the PBE (public test server) to record champion videos in advance.
Another gift from Riot Games
The company used to frequently gift content creators and even high Elo players in the past, but nowadays this practice has become uncommon. The only recent occurrence I remember was in early 2022, when the controversial player tyler1 received five medals from Riot for achieving the “Challenger” link in all five positions on Summoner’s Rift.
