Patch 13.2 release date for League of Legends may be delayed due to a hack in Riot’s development systems. Other company games may also be affected, such as FPS Valorant and the LoL spinoffs, Teamfight Tactics (TFT) and Legends of Runeterra. In addition to the patch, the company said that the attack could still impact the Ahri ASU Rework, which could be delayed to the 13.3 update on February 8.

Check out the statement from Riot Games on Twitter below:

Earlier this week, systems in our development environment were compromised via a social engineering. We don’t have all the answers right now, but we wanted to communicate early and let you know that there are no indications that player data or personal information was obtained.”

postponed patch

The Patch 13.2 date was scheduled for January 25th, but according to the official League of Legends Twitter account, this leak “may impact our update delivery date”. The company guarantees that “the League team is working to stretch the limits of what we can pack to still deliver most of the planned and tested changes”.

The company also stated that the long-awaited Ahri ASU Rework may be delayed to the 13.3 update on February 8th. It’s a total reconstruction of the famous character Ahri, where all her animations, textures and sounds will be updated.

What is social engineering?

Social engineering is the term used for cyber intrusions that require direct assistance from someone inside the facility. Almost always, an unsuspecting user clicks on some link and downloads malware on the net. Other forms include, for example, phishing, where the user clicks on some urgent email that, in reality, is a fake website created to steal passwords, data and credentials.

What was leaked?

The intent of the attacker(s) is not yet known, but famous content creator SkinSpotlights tweeted implying he was receiving “weird” information regarding releases. “I feel like it’s from a database breach or something stolen,” SkinSpotlight states on Discord ahead of Riot’s announcement.

We’ll post more information on the leak and date of the update as it’s released. Once available, we will post the official Patch Notes for Update 13.2. Until then, I recommend checking out the PBE Patch Notes. It is an extremely complete list made by us at Oficina da Net.
