After the attempted coup in Brazil, the Argentine government confirmed this Tuesday that Lula Da Silva will attend the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), to be held in Buenos Aires on January 24.

The news was given by the presidential spokesperson Gabriela Cerruti, who remarked that the three-time president of Brazil in the meeting that will be held at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center and that will be opened by President Alberto Fernández.

When giving an interview to Radio La Red, it was the spokesperson who said, when reflecting on the coup attempt that took place last Sunday in Brasilia, that “Lula is coming on January 23” to participate in the Summit that Fernández will lead.

“Brazil is a leading country in Latin America. The President and the Argentine people have a special relationship with Lula,” Cerruti said.

On the other hand, official sources told Télam that about 15 leaders are expected to arrive in the country to participate in the Celac summit and that a meeting between Fernández and Lula could take place on January 23.
