The Cultural Institute of the province of Buenos Aires presents a new edition of “Living Thursdays. Summer Dances”a series of free concerts and activities that brings together renowned artists with emerging musicians from the Buenos Aires scene.
This Thursday, January 26, it is the turn of the cumbia with the live recitals of mario louis, Anaconda Groupthe musicalization of DJ Cumbia Guarrior and a great dance contest. This initiative is given within the framework of the program Playtimea provincial government policy aimed at promoting tourism and access to culture.
The proposals will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza Seca of the Provincial Center for the Arts Teatro Argentino. The entrance will be made by avenue 51 and corner 9, in order of arrival and until exhaustion of the localities.
Mario Luis is a cumbia singer from Santa Fe, recognized for having been the leading voice of the Acclaimed Amistad, a group he led for 23 years and with which he released more than 20 albums, and for his prolific solo career, which began in the year 2006 and led him in 2019 to obtain a nomination in the category of “Best Tropical Male Artist” in the Gardel Awards for his album “Between lovers and lovers”.
Grupo Anaconda emerged in 2004 in the northern area of Greater Buenos Aires and, thanks to a series of successes, won the hearts of fans of the Colombian and Mexican sound that has been cultivated there for so many years. After a long hiatus, they returned to the stage in 2018, as always led by valeskaone of the great voices of the tropical scene.
Cumbia Guarrior is a DJ and musical selector dedicated to the sound of cumbia, and her objective is to spread the different aspects of this Latin American musical culture from a popular and feminist perspective. With five years of experience and being a resident of La Plata, she has shared the stage with emblematic bands of cumbia villera such as Notoriety, Goal Guacha Y stone flower. One of his great presentations was with Delio Valdezone of the most successful cumbia bands from Argentina.
