Where would all the superheroes be without their supervillains? Some of the antagonists are in no way inferior to their competitors in terms of popularity. For example, the Joker is considered one of the most popular villains in pop culture alongside Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter and Charles Montgomery Burns. Like Batman, however, the bully with the clown make-up is part of the DC universe. On the Marvel side, you could Venom as one of the most popular villains. After all, the Anti-Spider-Man has already been donated to two cinema films. And a third is currently in production.

When is Venom 3 in theaters?

There is still no word on when Venom 3 will hit theaters. However, the third part of the super villain series was unsurprisingly officially announced in April last year. No wonder, because the first two films with the titles Venom (2018) and Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage (2021) managed to raise the incredible sum of over $1.3 billion hit the worldwide box office.

It should be noted, however, that the sequel in direct comparison to Venom dropped significantly in terms of sales and $350 million made less sales. This may have been partly due to the corona pandemic and the associated measures to protect the population. For part 3 it still needs a real hit as a hook to lure the masses back to the cinemas.

Venom 3: Will Spider-Man be the villain?

For this reason, countless Marvel fans are hoping that the third part will finally see the summit meeting between Spider-Man and Venom. The friendly neighborhood spider is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but like Venom, Sony owns the film rights and not Disney. Da starring Tom Hardy in a post-credits scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home came up, a face-off with Tom Holland seems like the next logical step. Or will we see Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire?

However, it will take some time before we know more about this. How Tom Hardy announced on Instagram is now officially the pre-production launched by Venom 3. He celebrates this with a previously unreleased scene from the first feature film.

The so-called pre production includes all production steps that occur up to the start of shooting: casting, location search, finalizing the script, etc. With a theatrical release of Venom 3 is 2024 at the earliest to reckon with. And who knows: maybe we will actually witness an epic battle between Spider-Man and Venom on the big cinema screen.
