Thanos He left an indelible mark on the Marvel fandom during the Infinity Saga of the Cinematic Universe (MCU), but the Mad Titan’s goodbye is imminent and now it’s up to Kang the Conqueror be the great villain of the next phases.
Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, first appeared in the Loki series as a variant identified as He Who Remains. This multiversal version of the first time traveler was killed by Sylvie on the show, sparking chaos in the Multiverse and the approach of the original Kang, who we will see in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which opens on September 17. February 2023.
In an interview with total filmscited on the website of cinemascomicsthe Vice President of Production and Development at Marvel Studios, Stephen Broussard, made a surprising promise about what Kang will be like and his differences with Thanos.
For Broussard, Kang the Conqueror it will be “different” and “very fresh” compared to Thanos, but that he will maintain that “continuous presence” that characterized the Titan throughout the Infinity Saga, including post-credit scenes.
“Kan is very powerful, very formidable, very strong. And he will obviously have a continuing presence. Very similar to Thanos in the stories, moving forward in ways that are different from the Mad Titan and feel very fresh to us.”, explained the manager.
The importance of Kang in Ant-Man 3
While everyone expects the best from Kang the Conqueror to Avengers: Kang Dynasty (May 2, 2025) and Avengers: Secret Wars (May 1, 2026)the first appearance of the also known as Nathaniel Richards will be in the third installment of Ant-Man.
Stephen Broussard also spoke about this film and how Marvel wanted it to be more than an appetizer before Avengers 5: “Coming after the Avengers movies, lines had been thrown around as appetizers about the Ant-Man movies. But this time it’s different”.
“We feel that if we’re going to get a chance at a third part, we want the movie to be big and sits central to the future of UCM”, concluded the executive.
