Matthias Reim is already thinking about his own death. The singer wants to spend his last moments like pop legend Udo Jürgens.

Stockach – It was a terrible surprise for hit fans everywhere at the time: shortly before Christmas 2014, music icon Udo Jürgens († 80) died unexpectedly of heart failure. Previously, the native Austrian had suddenly collapsed on a walk in Switzerland. Jürgens never woke up from his unconsciousness. Until recently, the “Greek Wine” interpreter was still regularly on stage. His colleague Matthias Reim (65) now revealed that he would like a similar death.

These are thoughtful words that the popular singer used in an interview with IMAGE addressed to the reporters. Apparently Matthias Reim is already thinking about his own death. Most recently, the “Damn, I love you” interpreter struggled with health problems. Last fall, Reim had to cancel the performances he had planned at the time because he said he was struggling with a “burnout problem”. The forced break may have made the musician ponder.

Matthias Reim wants to say goodbye to life at the peak of his success

“I want to die like Udo Jürgens,” explained Matthias Reim in an interview IMAGE open minded. After a long and successful career, he also wanted to bless his time from one moment to the next. But unlike Jürgens, Reim does not intend to face death at the age of 80. Instead, he hopes to match his grandmother’s longevity. She only died when she was over 100 years old. The pop singer says: “But I want to be at least 106 like my grandma.”

So Matthias Reim plans to still perform at this state age. As he further reveals in an interview with the newspaper, he would prefer to die during a concert. “On my most successful tour, just fall over and be gone,” according to Reim, that’s the best way for him to say goodbye to life.
