The offensive midfielder Maximiliano Moralez was presented today as a new reinforcement for Racing, an institution where he made his professional debut and to which he returns after 14 years.

In a press conference, the 35-year-old player expressed his feelings about returning to the Avellaneda cast: “For me it is something unique to be able to return after so long. I really want to collaborate from my place. I will adapt to what the coach has for the benefit of the team.

“Racing is on the right track and not only because of what it has achieved in recent years. So I think that from my place I can add so that the team tries to continue on the same path,” Moralez said regarding what he can contribute to the team commanded by Fernando Gago.

And he added: “The fact that the club is in national and international competitions today shows how good it is and that it is aiming for the best on all fronts. The squad is preparing for that and from our place we will do everything possible to achieve it” .

“My name always sounded, even when they didn’t call me, I understand that the club and I had different times. It’s not worth looking at the past. I made the decision to come and the leaders to bring me, so I’m grateful. The number I chose it because I debuted with it and I wanted to use it,” Moralez reflected on the frustrated chances of returning to the club.

Regarding the place he could occupy in the team, the former player from Vélez said: “The coach will know where I can perform better. My idea is to help the youngsters, each teammate and here is a team with hierarchy and level to fight. I want to enjoy day to day at Racing. I didn’t speak to any of the boys, nor to Fernando (Gago), but I know about his way of working and how he lives football. I know about the intensity of the matches and training sessions, he look at the result and the team’s performance. Racing had a great year, hopefully it can help”.

“I chose 27 because it is a number that identifies me a lot and because it is the one with which I made my debut here at the club,” Moralez concluded when asked about the number he will use in his new cycle at Racing.

It is worth mentioning that the native of Granadero Baigorria Moralez is the second addition to the team led by coach Fernando Gago after the arrival of defender Oscar Opazo. The Chilean soccer player held his first training session with the squad on Tuesday morning and then signed the contract that will join the club for two years.
