Yesterday it became known that the American actor Jeremy Renner, known for, among other things, the role of Hawkeye in the Avengers films, is in a critical but stable condition after an accident.
– We can confirm that Jeremy is in a critical but stable condition with injuries he sustained in a weather-related accident while clearing snow on Sunday, says a representative for Renner to Variety.
On the night of Tuesday, it became known that Renner had undergone surgery, and that he was still in the emergency room in a critical but stable condition.
He is said to have suffered injuries to his chest, in addition to his foot being run over by a plowing machine.
– He always helps others
– He tried to help someone who was stranded in the snow. He always helps others, says Mayor Hillary Schieve of the city of Reno in Nevada, where Renner lives. She is a personal friend of Renner and his family.
The local newspaper reports Reno Gazette Journal.
According to Schieve, the Oscar-nominated actor got out of his plow to help a passerby who was traveling by car.
While Jenner helped the stranded man, he is said to have been run over by his own plow, says the mayor.
A neighbour, who happens to be a doctor, is said to have tied a tourniquet around the injury to Renner’s foot, to stop the bleeding until he was transported by air ambulance from the scene.

Jeremy Renner is known for portraying Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has also starred in acclaimed films such as “The Hurt Locker”, “The Town”, “American Hustle” and “Arrival”.

Renner has also been nominated for two Oscars, in 2010 for “The Town” and in 2009 for “The Hurt Locker”.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses who cared for him,” the family said in a statement.
– They are also hugely overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support from his fans.
