“Yes, it is feasible to achieve certain aesthetic goals even if you are a vegetarian or vegan — that is, without consuming meat. The issue is precisely knowing how to eat and make the right choices”, explains nutritionist Dani Borges.

Although there are differences between animal and vegetable protein, there is no shortage of options to make the dish very nutritious. “A combination of rice and beans already gives us a combination of protein, amino acids and other nutrients, which are very similar to the biological value of animal protein”, he says.

Dani points out that meat can be exchanged for other sources of protein, such as dark leafy vegetables: legumes, peas, beans, lentils, chickpeas, for example.
