“Show your silly side” demanded the Redmonders in their most recent blog post and present a variety of new filters for Microsoft teams. Based on Snap’s so-called Camera Kit, more than 20 of the most popular Snapchat lenses are to move into the Office software. Teams should thus become even more entertaining and “make meetings shine”.

No more dry meetings, bring the bear in love
Snapchat filters are expected to be available in video effects settings later this week. Microsoft speaks, among other things, of cat ears, a chicken on the head, bears in love, sunsets, glasses, horses, the smooth look and co. The integration will only start for the “classic” teams for the time being. The new team, which can currently be tried out in advance, should also be supplied by the end of the year. An interesting move on the part of Snap, having just discontinued its desktop camera app earlier this year. Among other things, this could be used to use Snapchat lenses or filters within Skype, Teams, Twitch, Hangouts, Zoom and Co. Now Microsoft has apparently secured the function exclusively for the time being.
At the same time, the Redmond company lists additional changes to the backgrounds for teams within the Microsoft 365 roadmap. The developers are working on “Dynamic Backgrounds”, which should create more realistic virtual environments in the future as an animated video effect. The areas of creativity and personalization thus move into focus.
