While the transfer had taken the lead in the wing following the offer revised downwards by the Merlus, FC Lorient returned to the charge for Bamba Dieng in the last hours, with a new offer for the striker of the Olympic Marseille. The positions are getting closer.

Bamba Dieng could finally reach Brittany this winter!

Renowned for being tough in business, the president of Olympique de Marseille Pablo Longoria did not really appreciate FC Lorient’s feedback on Bamba Dieng. Les Merlus having lowered their offer to 5 million euros for the transfer of the Senegalese striker after learning that the 22-year-old talent had a screw in his knee (see here).

Consequently, a possible transfer this winter had taken the lead in the wing and the negotiations now seemed complicated. But the situation has changed again, and the FCL has finally regained hope!

Lorient returns the charge for Dieng!

Indeed, according to the latest indiscretions brought by the newspaper La Provence this Friday, discussions are continuing and the two clubs are even approaching an agreement. Aware that their final proposal had irritated the Phocens, the Lorient people would have made a new offer estimated at €7m, much more in line with the amount initially mentioned (between €8m and €10m) for Dieng. This proposal would even reach the 10 M€ bonus included, advance on their side RMC and the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

La Provence specifies, moreover, that the case really has chances of evolving favorably in the coming hours and that the various parties, in particular Longoria and its sporting director Javier Ribalta, are doing everything possible to allow Dieng, who remained in Brittany after having passed his medical examination on Thursday, to slip away before the transfer window scheduled for Tuesday. A trend confirmed by the Foot Mercato site which already mentions a four and a half year contract, including two optional years, for Dieng.

The Moffi track buries, OM prospect abroad

As you will have understood, OM will therefore not retain Dieng against all odds. Longoria and his teams are already working on replacing the African champion in January. With several tracks coming mainly from abroad! Probably due to his failure for Terem Moffi, whose file was completely t close because the Nigerian prefers to leave Lorient to join Nice, Marseille obviously intends to seek his next center forward far from France. With five more short days to find happiness…

In your opinion, should Dieng join Lorient? What do you think of the latest offer from Les Merlus? Feel free to react and discuss in the area add a comment
