México gana la Copa Oro

The Mexico soccer team won its ninth Gold Cup this Sunday after a final against Panama. The match held at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles was close and ended with a single goal from Santi Giménez in the 88th minute, which ended up giving the Mexicans victory.

Giménez became Mexico’s national hero when he came into play during the second half of the match. Three minutes after stepping on the grassthe striker got rid of the defenders from midfield and after a long run he shot on goal with his left foot to score a goal.

Giménez’s goal put an end to the aspirations of Panama, which reaped very positive opinions and results throughout the competition. It was the third time that the Panamanian team tried to take the cup home in finals. The Panamanians touched the goal during the discount in a rebound play by Aníbal Godoy.

For Mexico, it is the fourth win in a California stadium. The Mexican team lost during the last tournament against the United States in 2021, but this year it once again reaffirms itself as the team with the most titles in the competition. The Mexicans thus raise their heads and Jaime Lozano, who took the reins of the team after the dismissal of Diego Cocca, reaffirms himself as the coach the national team needs.
