NoIn recent months, Microsoft has announced layoffs of thousands of workers as part of an internal restructuring to face the state of the global economy.
Now it has been confirmed that these redundancies will also be felt in Portugal where, according to the Observer112 workers will be affected by this decision.
Meanwhile, Notícias ao Minuto contacted Microsoft and confirmed that the company is, in fact, moving forward with these “organizational adjustments”. However, Redmond Tech did not specify the number of workers that will be affected.
“Organizational adjustments are a regular, necessary part of our business. We will continue to prioritize and invest in strategic growth areas for our future, supporting and supporting our customers and partners”can be read in the official statement from Microsoft. “We do not take decisions like this lightly. We are working closely with impacted employees to ensure they are treated with respect and have our full support during these transitions”.
It is worth remembering that these mass redundancies are not exclusive to Microsoft, with the measure also being adopted by other large companies in the area.
Among them we find not only Meta, but also Alphabet (Google), Amazon and Spotify.
