AC Milan wants to get out of the earnings crisis. The Rossoneri have been waiting for a win since January 4th. From third place in the table, the Milanese have fallen to sixth place in recent weeks. Milan want to do better this Friday evening against FC Torino. “A deal with the Devil”, headlines the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’. Captain Davide Calabria’s team committed themselves to the game with a few declarations of war via social media. At the same time, there are signs of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return after more than eight months. The Swede is expected to take a seat on the bench. The ‘Quotidiano Sportivo’ speaks of “Zlatan Effect”.
Laporta’s great self-praise
Joan Laporta has been President of FC Barcelona for the second time since March 2021 and has to lead the Blaugrana through what is probably the most difficult financial situation in the club’s history. Barça still has to turn over every euro three times and is dependent on a massive increase in income. Yesterday, Thursday, Laporta presented its balance sheet to the press and did not skimp on self-praise: “We got Barça out of ruin. We’re proud of the bold decisions we’ve made that have taken the club in the right direction.” The ‘Sport’ doesn’t necessarily see it that way and headlines scornfully: “Laporta stands up for itself.”
The return of Sancho
Not only Bundesliga fans celebrated Jadon Sancho’s successful comeback for Manchester United. Bruno Fernandes also praised the 22-year-old in the highest tones in relation to the ‘Mirror’: “Hopefully that will give us and him a big boost for the rest of the season. We know what Jadon can bring to the team. We know his qualities and what he can give us, so we are very happy to have him back in the team.” The English daily newspaper temporarily converts the Red Devils in its edition “SanUnited” around.
