Millions of bath toys recalled "Baby Shark"

WASHINGTON — The Zuru Company announced the withdrawal of mercado 7 millions of toys Baby Shark Bathtub due to the potential “impalement, laceration and puncture” risk it poses to children.

The company urged consumers to immediately stop using these baby toys and contact Zuru for a full refund.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the federal government agency that works to reduce the risk of injury or death from consumer products, a child can slip and fall or sit on the hard plastic top flap. from the shark while using the toys, especially in a bathtub or wading pool, which could cause harm to the baby.

The toy manufacturer is aware of 12 reports of children who have fallen or sat on the Baby Shark bath toy, so the company decided to withdraw it from the market. According to CPSC investigations, use of toys could cause injuries to children’s genital, anorectal, and facial areas.

At least nine of the injuries required stitches or medical attention, according to the reports.

The recall is for the Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing & Swim bath toys as well as the Mini Baby Shark Swimming bath toys.

Only full-size Baby Shark toys with a hard plastic top fin are included in this recall.

Consumers with recalled toys can contact Zuru for a full refund for each bath toy. The toys were sold online or in person at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and TJX Companies from May 2019 to March 2023.
