Sven Mislintat joins Ajax Amsterdam. As announced by the Dutch record champions, the 50-year-old German will take on the position of sports director and will sign a contract until 2026.
From his time as chief scout at Borussia Dortmund, Mislintat is known as an eagle eye who unearthed numerous unknown talents. He then worked in his own capacity at FC Arsenal before pulling the strings as sports director at VfB Stuttgart from April 2019 to November 2022.
Edwin van der Sar is looking forward to the support in the senior management at Ajax: “We were looking for someone who stands for attacking and attractive football. Someone who has an international network and an eye for scouting, developing and nurturing our own youth. Sven fulfills this profile and he made a very good impression on us during the first talks in February.”
