CDMX.- Mario Delgado, national president of Morena, assured that the party seeks to close the episode of confrontation with the National Electoral Institute (INE) to make way for a new relationship with the electoral advisers.

The leader indicated that after the departure of the former president of the INE, Lorenzo Córdova, and the counselor Ciro Murayama applies the saying that “with the dog dead, the rage is over.”

“With the departure of Lorenzo Córdova and Ciro Murayama, the saying applies that with the death of the dog, rabies is over. Fortunately, these characters who throughout the entire term acted as employees of the conservatives, have always been employees of the right, have left. they became opponents and stopped being electoral referees. Now I think the INE has a different environment,” said Delgado.

Delgado assured that the new General Council of the Institute and its president, Guadalupe Taddei, have Morena’s vote of confidence to organize the 2024 elections, since they have shown other values and desire to do things differently.

As an example, he stressed that they have “aligned” with the austerity policy of the so-called Fourth Transformation.

The leader of Morena described Taddei’s attitude to reduce his salary as “very positive”, since with this the president adviser will not violate the law of earning more than President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

He reiterated that they will seek an institutional relationship of respect and trust with the INE and acknowledged that the 2024 election will be very complicated.

Delgado said that it will be everyone’s responsibility that these elections be a democratic and clean process and in which the will of the people is respected.
