Mexico City.- The PVEM and the PT – allies of Morena and the 4T – nominated their own candidates for the Coahuila Governor’s Office, who will contend against the morenista, Armando Guadiana.

Unlike the elections in the State of Mexico, where the three parties will go with Delfina Gómez as a common candidate, the PT named Ricardo Mejía and the PVEM Lenin Pérez as candidates for the Coahuila government.

Mejía resigned yesterday from the Federal Security Undersecretary to register as a PT candidate. The former official participated in Morena’s internal poll in which he was defeated by Senator Guadiana and did not recognize the results along with a group of Morenistas who consider Guadiana as “moreirista”.

During the PT conference in Mexico City, in which he was anointed, Mejía said that he will represent the victims of the PRI, PAN and Morena, and sectors angry with the local government.

Meanwhile, Guadiana, in a telephone interview, acknowledged that Mejía’s candidacy as PT standard-bearer will take votes away from him.

“It is going to do the PRI a favor, because it is going to take some votes that are from Morena and related to Morena, but I don’t think it will affect us,” he assured.

In Coahuila, there will therefore be three candidates prone to the 4T (Guadiana, Mejía and Pérez) against the alliancist Manolo Jiménez, who registered his candidacy yesterday.
