Myths and legends of the Dark Knight: this was going to be the Batman movie starring Affleck that will never come to light

Even though that him DC Extended Universe is going to undergo a reboot very soon, with James Gunn commanding this new era of superheroes, there was a very ambitious project starring Ben Affleck’s Batman that was going to give a lot to talk about.

During an interview with reversethe producer jay olive explains how the solo tape of the Bat Man. Apparently, Affleck wanted to address the stories that were never fully explored in the comics, as well as give a very different take on the character than what we’ve seen in theaters so far.

“I’ve worked on a lot of Batman stuff and what was really cool was that it tied together a lot of Batman stories that had never been explored. Ben’s story was going to cover something that had never really been covered in the comics, but It was based on stories from the Batman mythos over the past 80 years and approached it from a new perspective.”

During the interview, Oliva reiterated that it was a ambitious film of the Dark Knight, but that finally Ben had to withdraw from the project due to personal problems. After Affleck’s departure, the production lost interest until the draft that the American actor had was completely discarded.

We do not know exactly what could have happened with this movie, but knowing that it was a new approach to the superhero “away” from the comics, it is most likely that there would have been divided to the audience just as other projects have done with the same intention, such as the recent film by Flash.
