New year, new Netflix series: In January 2023, the streaming provider will also be releasing a bunch of new series. Viewers can look forward to these highlights in the first few weeks of the new year – we have put together a few tips.
Netflix series in January: Kaleidoscope
The Kaleidoscope miniseries (from January 1st): This series is about a gang of master thieves. These try to load up the biggest coup yet by cracking a seemingly indestructible safe. In doing so, they must also outwit one of the most effective security teams in the world, at least according to the Netflix description. One of the actors is Giancarlo Esposito, who fans of the series know from “Breaking Bad”. (8 episodes)

Bernie Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street (from January 4th)
The miniseries reveals the truth behind Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, Netflix announces. “At $64 billion, it was the largest in all of financial history and devastated the lives of countless investors who had placed their trust in the respected Wall Street strategist.” Madoff is played by Richard Dreyfuss, who became famous in the 1970s with classics like Jaws. Vikings: Valhalla (Season 2) – from January 12th
The series Vikings: Valhalla takes place over a thousand years ago and is based on the series “Vikings” by Michael Hirst. The series “depicts the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings of all time, including legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his fiery and headstrong sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and ambitious Norse prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter),” reveals Netflix before launch. The second season picks up after the fall of Kattegat. The second season starts on January 9th.
The 90’s Show (from January 19)
In January, Netflix is delivering a spin-off of the classic series “The Wild Seventies”https://www.waz.de/kultur/fernsehen/.”Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll” is the title right at the beginning of Netflix -Description. “Leia Forman is dying to go on adventures – or at least find a best friend who isn’t part of her family.” When she visited her grandparents in Point Place in 1995, she met Gwen – and seems to have found just that. Lockwood and Co. (from January 27th)
The world is haunted by ghosts, large corporations use teenagers with special abilities in the fight against the overpowering. Only one agency still operates without adult supervision – every Lockwood and Co. Ruby Stokes (Lucy Carlyle) and Cameron Chapman (Anthony Lockwood) are in front of the camera. 8 episodes of the fantasy series start on Netflix from January 27th.
