Recommendations to visit the Nevado de Toluca
Civil Protection authorities of the State of Mexico called on visitors to Nevado de Toluca to take the following recommendations:
- Check the weather before going to the Toulca’s snowy
- Do not walk off established trails, on snow, cliffs, or unknown terrain.
- In case of snowfall, departure will be at 3:00 p.m. or earlier, as determined by the authority.
- Wear suitable, waterproof and thermal clothing and footwear.
- Access to the crater is only by the Quetzal Pass
- Follow the instructions of security personnel
- In case the water in the lagoons freezes, it is strictly forbidden to walk on the ice.
