According to telamfrom the union, through a statement, indicated: “We continue to demand the reduction of the weekly working day to thus minimize our degree of exposure to unhealthy factors present in our work environment.”
This reality has already affected more than 80 workers, the death of three others and the contamination of network users.
In turn, they added: “We also insist on denouncing the presence of carcinogenic material in the network and we continue to demand its comprehensive de-animalization and the urgent change of contaminated fleets.”
In this way, the union organization demanded “from the City Government and the concessionaire an immediate solution to the health crisis caused by asbestos in the subway, since the lives of workers and users are at risk.”
We also insist on denouncing the presence of carcinogenic material on the network and we continue to demand its comprehensive de-animalization and the urgent change of contaminated fleets.
They even remarked: “This reality has already affected more than 80 workers, the death of three others and the contamination of network users.”
In addition, they stated that the company Metrovías-Emova and its spokesperson “publicly lie, stating that there is no risk to workers and users due to the presence of asbestos in the subway, thus demonstrating their historical lack of interest in the safety of those who work and use underground transportation.”
