The new WhatsApp emoji keyboard is even closer to being released. In a recent Beta version of the messenger for Android, the tray once again separated stickers into categories, making it easier to search for themed faces and reactions.
Contained in version 2.23.12.8 of WhatsApp Beta, the feature makes browsing the sticker catalog better organized. The category bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen, while the choice of format — emoji, GIF or Sticker — and other functions have been allocated at the top of the keyboard.
Emoji categories are nothing new on WhatsApp, actually. The section has existed in the messenger for years, but in a different position today. However, the first time the sticker tray rework was seen, this organization was not present.
During development, it is normal for tools to go through revisions and have aspects reworked frequently. This is the ideal time for the platform to assess which ideas should be kept or removed from the app, as it does not impact the end-user experience.

According to the website WABetaInfo, which discovered the emoji keyboard first, the addition is not yet available even for testers. Therefore, there is no release date for the feature.
