New Year’s concert on January 3rd in the Hard frame

On 3 January, the Dornbirn Youth Symphony Orchestra will be presenting a program rich in contrasts on a hard stretcher. The start of the year is celebrated with works by Scandinavian composers and their fantastic sound world as well as elegant Viennese music.

Vast landscapes, enchanted waterfalls, cheeky trolls and festive parades. Composers from Scandinavia will tell us about all this and much more at this year’s New Year’s concert. Fantastic works in the so-called “Nordic tone” determine the first part of the evening. A young Austrian composer makes people sit up and take notice as a surprise guest. Young soloists from our own ranks celebrate their premiere on the podium.

With elegant and lively Viennese music in the second part, the young sinfonicians accompany the audience into the New Year and promise a sensually lively concert with a large portion of optimism, which we can all use.

Direction: Director Ivo Warenitsch and Matthias Seewald

SOLOISTS: INSIDE: Etienne Hoschek, Sophia Kohler, Benedikt Bär (all trumpet), Alexander Svetnitsky-Ehrenreich (clarinet), Miriam Pal, Yves Hoschek (both trombone),

Joshua Dorner (double bass)
